Plex Failed to run the package service on DS1821+ Synology NAS

Howdy folks! Whenever I try to run my Plex Media Server from my Synology NAS, I get the error “failed to run the package service.” I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version via manual install as well as the version from the Synology package center to no avail.

I have also tried restarting my NAS and still don’t seem to be able to get it to run. I am unsure what caused it to stop and do not know where to go from here. Thanks!

Does any other version work?

I ask because there were a few issues with 1.23.0.4438 which were corrected yesterday.
I’m trying to see if the engineering versions I have will help you.

Thanks for the quick reply. I uninstalled, restarted, and tried to install the earlier version: 1.22.3.4392-d7c624def, but I am still getting the same error, unfortunately.

I tried attaching my logs but I got an error. I’m not sure if it’s just too big?

I couldn’t do the logs via the plex settings because I deleted the linking to my server in an attempt to get this to work before coming here.

Thanks. For some reason, I saw those files but didn’t think about moving my media out, and I don’t recall seeing any other messages, d’oh! Regardless, I will make a new folder and place my media there outside the plex folder.

I was able to get things back up and and running by copying an old library.db file “com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-2021-04-27” and renaming it to the main library db file “com.plexapp.plugins.library.db”.

I’m still not sure exactly what happened, but I’m happy things are working again! I appreciate the help!
