DS918+ error - Failed to run the package service

Hi there,

I run Plex Media Server on my Synology DS918+ and usually stream to an Apple TV 4K. Everything’s been working fine ever since I purchased the NAS a couple of years ago. However, last night I was watching a movie and suddenly Plex just stopped working. I wasn’t doing anything usual or moving files or anything - it just stopped.

I went to Package Center and saw that the Plex package was not running. I attempted to start it but it just returns error “Failed to run the package service”.

Everything’s up to date. I restarted my NAS and also tried downloading and reinstalling the Plex package again but no luck. Have also checked the permissions and I think everything looks fine. The ‘plex’ user has access to my media folder and the Plex folder. My main admin username has access to the Plex folder too. It’s been a long time since I set everything up but it all looks good to me.

If someone could help me figure out what’s wrong and how to fix it, I would really appreciate it. I have a lot of custom collections and have put quite a bit of effort into Plex, so don’t want to lose all that hard work.
