To further make things strange, I attempted to listen to music on the PLEX Android app, and of course it failed after two songs, but unlike last time I didnt force close the app. I just jammed on to my next task. But a little after 4 hours later it started playing the next song. Surprised the crap out of me, but at least it did something.
Is anyone at PLEX willing to take a bribe to fix this?
Yes, this happens for me sometimes as well.
Android app on Samsung Galaxy S10e.
Might not always be exactly 2 songs, and it is usually in the middle of a track.
The song will stop playing until I open the app again, where it will either resume immediately, or reboot from the splash screen, then I just have to hit play and it picks up where it left off.
I went for a drive today and can confirm I am still experiencing this issue on 8.0.1.17410 on a Samsung Galaxy S10e.
Music would stop either in the middle of a song or right at the start.
Unlocking my phone and opening the app would make it continue playback right where it left off (app did not restart when I would open it, it was still running).
This is definitely a recent issue for me (was working fine up to a couple weeks ago).
Any response from Plex team?
I am not following the Beta scene, could this issue have been addressed?
I’ve had nothing but issues since they changed the app. IMO it’s trash. I’ve had a song start and get somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds into it and just start the song over on a cycle, I’ve tried to play an album and it will only play the first song and just quit. I’ve had it play a few songs in a playlist and just quit. LTE or WiFi don’t matter. I want to love it (bought a plex pass) but I just quit using it because it was so inconvenient and switched to subsonic for my music needs. Also if it helps I’m on 8.0.1.17410 on a OnePlus 6t. Wife’s Samsung Galaxy S8 does the same thing too.
So, my work around is using the plex app to sync the music to my device, but I use the android app Poweramp to play music over bluetooth or with an aux cord.
So is the Plex team just non-existent? I bought a lifetime subscription to Plex and this is the quality that comes out of the app? This is the quality of support? This is rediculous.
The Plex app on my Android S10+ has stopped working properly, with exactly this problem, as described by everyone else. Now just today, I can’t get the Plex app on my phone to connect to my Plex server at all. On my Chrome browser I have no problem, and that’s connecting through plex.tv/desktop and not direct across the LAN.
My Samsung TV has been having separate issues where playing any video with subtitles enabled at all causes extreme lag in some cases, or for the video to not play at all and you have to attempt to replay.
I’m definitely regretting paying for this. I’m going to start making sure I make its well known that Plex isn’t a worthy product for your money. This is absolutely ridiculous that I’ve been experiencing this for the better part of a month, clearly everyone else has too, and not a single response from the Plex team.
Dude I feel you. In another thread a dude found an app that will at least play music called PlexAmp. I have been using it all day today and it hasnt failed yet.
Its bummer that no one has responded to this or any thread dealing with the app crashing.
