Plex Family Pass with Tidal

Hi,

I already have a Plex Pass for the family and I really like that we can access our home server individually.

But now I am interested in the new Tidal add-on music service and have some questions before I go grab it.

  1. Does the price listed here override the one I already pay or do I have to play for my subscription for Plex and separately the one for Tidal?
  2. Will the service be available to everyone in my plan (three household members) or only the main account?
  3. If we can all use it, can we do it the same as with the other services and listen independently at the same time?

I know I had one more question, but forgot it.

Thanks,
Andy

Only if you switch to this offering. However:

No. The Tidal family plan is not supported. Only the main Plex user will be able to use Tidal through Plex.

So, basically, there is no way for the other household members to access the Tidal ad-on?
Each has to have their own account and subscription? …and through this, a new question: Will a family plan for Tidal be coming in the future?

Unfortunately, yes.

I can’t tell. It’d make sense – but there is licensing agreement to be made before this can happen.

Given that the Tidal Family plan is not available through Plex, and given that I want the Tidal Family plan, I cancelled the Tidal add-on in Plex in order to purchase the Tidal Family plan through Tidal directly. That doesn’t work, because my Tidal plan was started through Plex. The Plex Tidal Add-on will expire in 23 days, so the worst case scenario is that I have to wait 23 days before I can purchase the Tidal Family plan, but that seems illogical. Does anybody know how to get around this? I signed up for the free month Tidal add-on in Plex and I love it!! I want to pay for the Family plan, but not I’m stuck in “can’t have it purgatory” until April 20th. Seems stupid.
