Plex files not getting correct metadata on new install

Installed new drive and copied all my files into new windows PC, setup Plex Windows Server and began the library creation. 90% of the movies(2500+) and TV Shows(100) were correct when comparing to main plex server. (Setting up a stand-alone system for friend.) Those that did not get data will not get any even after renaming them. Also drive has 2567 movies (1 folder) and Plex only shows 2541. Verified no doubled up listings, Ran scan 5 times even delete and recreated Library and still same results. Is there a way to get the Metadata from my server to the desktop version?

Yes there is, Releases · WebTools-NG/WebTools-NG · GitHub will allow you to export and compare your libraries.

For those having issues can you provide a file name, path, and a copy of your server logs?

Thanks, Found issue was property info on files causing issue. Some mkv had more info in title line of file properties. I converted them to mp4 and that allowed me to fixed the issue. Just still can’t get two files to find correct metadata (Split(2017), What If(2014)). I think it’s an issue with desktop version as the web version (on file server) works better.

Unlikely. Plex doesn’t read meta tags from MKV files.

Also very unlikely. Things like matching and metadata are handled by the server, not the client.

Put a space character in, before the opening parenthesis.

The title “What if” from 2014 is probably too ambiguous. Advanced search
You might want to add the IMDb ID to the file name.
