also an issue on ios and ipados too. i keep getting the somethings went wrong error when i go to livetv tab. however on appletv, works fine and also fine on every other plex client i use (roku, tizen, web browser)
update: yup, confirmed fixed by enabling plex live tv services on the server. BLEH! i don’t want them enabled but for time being set to: Disabled for Managed Accounts and LiveTV now works fine on both iOS and iPadOS clients (non beta versions)
update: broken again no matter the settings
update to the update: dec 7, 2025; plex has fixed something on their backend. i am able to access my tuners in Live TV on both ios and ipados26. yay!!!
Plex is trying to setup secure connections to 5 different servers and failing which points to local DNS and DNS-Rebinding protections.
The triangle with ! is telling you it can’t reach the server, if you unpin/unfavorite them it may get past the locked screen. Resetting all customizations on that account and starting over might clear any bad cached information.
I have to assume 4 of those servers are in a different house and are being blocked somewhere in your network or at the router.
Not what you want to hear, but gives you something to look into.
Some of these are in-house, and some of these are in other locations. I am running a Pi-Hole and a UniFi network, but even when turning the ad blocking off, I don’t have success.
How do I do this on the android app?
Resetting all customizations on that account and starting over might clear any bad cached information.
So this happens inside and outside of my network, and is try to connect to both local and non-local Live TV feeds. I uploaded another data packet below that’s from outside my network.
Not sure how many clients still allow you to specify Manual Servers but that would be a place to check for multiple entries.
Remove any duplicates that haven’t been logged into for more than a day. Check Server Settings > Network for unnecessary entries.
Beyond that we are getting into the weeds as to why you have so many addresses for each server. Plex uses an API to return the list but not sure if this is documented.
I am using the new Android app. To be clear, using the old app APK I am able to watch my channels without issue. I have no issues loading the home page as well, just the Live TV tab.
I am using a unifi router and a pihole locally on my network.
I did have several servers listed for some of the addresses, as I access them over VPNs as well as local. But I have removed that and am still seeing the errors when trying to connect. There are no custom settings on my network page now, and myself and several friends are having issues trying to connect to my live tv services.
The old app allowed manually specifying server addresses and insecure connections.
New App uses https which means:
No custom DNS name without a registered CERT to go with it.
No VPN
Probably no multiple connections to your servers
Testing all 5 connection(s) for C
Testing all 6 connection(s) for S
Testing all 2 connection(s) for K
Testing all 3 connection(s) for M
Testing all 5 connection(s) for R
Hopefully this is all as simple as you are running the Beta and need to drop back to 1.42 or have a Mac and need to set the LAN to allow local access.
If you want to keep pushing Plex for an answer I suggest starting a new thread, include server logs along with the client logs. Nothing in the docs but it does seem they are leaning strongly to a simple “Home” network, no VLANS no DNS filtering and DNS that uses 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.
My original issue about needing Plex TV activated to use Live TV has been resolved in the latest Android beta so I have marked this such.
