Trailers cannot be played with this beta on Android TV and mobile devices, if the device is in the local network. With external access, the trailers can be played.
Plex for Android 9.0.5 works with trailers (non beta)

Since Android Plex Player 9.06, extras (trailers) can no longer be played if the player is in the same network as the server (I have an Asustor NAS with the latest Plex server).
Remote Access works, old Plex Player < 9.06 works, Plex Web works
The trailers comes from the network and are not stored locally.

Yes, i have exactly the same problem. External access i dont use. The Problem is only at my Android Devices. even my NVIDIA Shild pro.
My Smart-TV or the Windows App works fine.
I described it on the German page of the forum a few weeks ago, but without an answer. in the latest version of the app 9.4.0.33297 the problem is still there.
Disable video stream transcoding on Plex server works:
WOW … I turn off the Marker “Deactivate Video-Transcocding” and it works. i checkt it with my Mobile Phone and Tablet.
The CPU Chart shows now a high rating when a Trailer plays on a Android Device. When i play a Trailer at the Windows APP or Smart TV the CPU rating is low.
That explains that a Trailer for an Android Device must be Transcoded. With the old app versions it works if transcoding is switched off.

To be clear , that’s a workaround not a solution, until the bug is fixed,
I still think it has to do with being logged-in, server-features missing, failed checks on permission for plex-pass features or alike.
I first realized this, when I clicked the update-link and an older version than what was already installed was offered for download. I had to log-in in order to get the current version. I never had to do that before, all while accessing my server locally: http://192.168.1.x:32400/web/index.html
That kinda explains why trailers work on remote servers, but not locally.
Isn´t hw-transcoding, trailers a plex-pass feature also? Those features should be linked to the server being logged-in and having a plex-pass for that user, nor? Maybe its not fully transported or the check for this features have been changed?
