Plex for Android: Sync Always Running

  • I do not and have never used the Sync feature in PLEX.
  • I do not have a PLEX Pass, and therefore am not eligible to use premium features like Sync.
  • Nonetheless, Sync appears to be running on my phone and I can’t stop it.
  • When I reboot my phone, a notification from Sync is often the first thing that pops up on my screen.
  • That message then continuously populates my Android system tray and I can’t get rid of it.
  • I’ve checked and rechecked the settings for Sync in PLEX for Android and can find no way to stop this.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

I never suggested that PLEX was syncing anything. Rather, I said that PLEX sync was running on my Android phone, despite the fact that I do not have a PLEX pass.

PS Please don’t insult my technical knowledge by talking down to me and I won’t insult yours by suggesting that you need to increase your level of reading comprehension.

I doubt it’s plex, i’ve never seen this over my 5 devices. I think it’s your cellphone. If you want to be positive, factory reset your phone, you can easily reinstall whatever you use. surely that’s possible.

I have a similar issue. Yes it is Plex sync. Not sure what it is doing. But now my battery iss dying by about 3pm, it used to last all day no problem.

I am trying to upload the log - but keep getting a “file failed to load”. Maybe this is due to the forum change to “Discourse”

I also see I have multiple server logs (PLex Media Server.log, Plex Media Server.1.log…all the way up to 5).
