I recently had a couple of trips where I wanted to travel with just my android tablet, and leave my windows laptop at home. This led me to try downloading videos to my mobile device.
Last time I tried this was months ago. At that time I was disappointed that plex developers had broken the sync X number of unwatched videos function, but at least what was left worked. This time, when I queue up some files, they just sit there WAITING… forever. If I delete the app and reinstall it, it might then download one file, but that is it. I tried clearing the cache, but this didn’t help.
Since plex mobile is currently useless for offline use, my plan for my next trip is to copy files manually and watch them using VLC. As a long time plex pass holder, I am extremely disappointed with plex. They take away features and in return ask for more people to pay for plex pass. I’m not sure I would get a plex pass today since features it is supposed to provide, like the sync/download feature don’t even work. Sure I can stream but isn’t always an option like on airplanes.
Is there a way to fix the broken download feature, or is this just the state of plex today?
