Plex for iOS errors after update

Server Version#:Version 1.43.2.10687
Player Version#:2026.11.0 (1767)

Since updating to the latest iPhone Plex app, I can only play videos through the Plex server if I log out of wifi on my phone, or download them. I get an Error: Error opening input.
Server works fine on external networks and on other devices in my local network. Wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to fix that because it’s brutal.

Things I’ve tried:

  • adding my server network IP address (local) to custom server URLs
  • putting my phone’s local IP into the list of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth
  • toggling Preferred/Required on secure connections
  • deleting the app and re-installing

Things I’ve checked:

  • Local network is definitely enabled in the app
  • I downloaded a file in the app (over local wifi) and it played fine, and it works fine on 5G, so playback isn’t the issue
  • Went to the “Playing url:” in the log, and it loads fine in a browser, both on my pc and phone
  • Dashboard will display the metadata for the file I’m trying to watch and a little local bandwidth spike and then drop back to nothing

Basic error logs with times/data stripped:
Playing url: (local url to file)
playerStateDidChange - preparing
prepareToPlay
playerStateDidChange - buffering
selectTrack 1
selectTrack not contained 1
shutdown
Shutdown player item
playerStateDidChange - error
