Plex for LG (LG 43UK6200PUA) Won't Play Higher Than 720p

Server Version#:

I have an LG 43UK6200PUA 4k HDR blah blah nothing fancy TV. On it, I’ve updated WebOS to version 5.x.xxx (newest version) and I’ve updated Plex for LG to it’s newest version ( think it’s like 4.1 or something).

I’ve set my server settings to have no limit (allow original quality to be streamed), I’ve change the settings in Plex for LG to allow original for internet, local, remote, and I’ve even manually selected 1080p or higher for each media being played.

But no matter what I do, it keeps force transcoding everything down to 4Mbps 720p.

On my server side, under remote access, I’ve set Limit remote bitrate stream to Original (No Limit).

Am I missing it some where else?

Do you have the LG setting for manual server as your Server LAN IP and port 32400.

In the server setting / network/ secure connections preferrred

Also in the LG settings under Main scroll to the bottom

Allow fallback to Insecure Connections Always

Prefer Insecure Connections on same Network as server

The current versions can be found in Announcements.

In the Plex for LG app, enable the setting to send logging to your server. Then play a video for about 1 minute then get the log from PMS.

Sure, I’ll get that log for you today.
