I am having difficulty with the Plex App on my LG TV (WebOS) not connecting to my server (Windows 11). The connection is over my local network. The TV is on Wi-Fi the server is on Ethernet. I read through a post from a couple of years ago and the symptoms are the same, but the fix of changing the network security settings does not fix the problem. I am only having trouble connecting from this TV; my other TVs (both Samsung) and my phone connect without issue.
I have tried a number of things to try to get this issue fixed:
- Uninstalled/Reinstalled the Plex App on the TV
- Adjusted security settings on the Plex App on the TV to be less restrictive (not require a secure connection)
- Set a Static IP for the Server
- Set a Static IP for the Client (LG TV)
- Set a Manual Server connection on the TV to access port 32400
The LG TV connected to the server just fine until about 5 weeks ago. I don’t know if these facts are relevant, but the connection issue started at this time:
- Had an extended power outage ~4 hours for electrical work on the house.
- After the power outage, the LG TV will no longer connect to the internet over the wired Ethernet connection, only the wi-fi.
- The connection issue started shortly after I purchased a lifetime PlexPass (I really hope this is unrelated).
I would appreciate any help that anyone could offer in troubleshooting and correcting this issue.
