Plex on LG C1 TV stuck at “Network Unavailable” on start up. See screenshot. Reinstalling didn’t fix it. Have confirmed TV has internet connectivity, YouTube works. Plex on my iPhone launches and streams just fine.
I’ve been getting this for a few days now every time I open the app on the Shield. Hitting retry (which I doesn’t seem to exist for you), several times brings up the Home screen eventually. Closing the app and starting it again also works.
If a dev happens to see this, I can’t speak for the LG app, but after every reboot of the Shield, the app opens as if it were already running. There is no splash screen on first open either. It only shows when you close the app and then re-launch it. I find this very odd.
Problem came back again today. Not sure what’s going on. My TV HAS internet connection, every other apps that require internet works just fine, as does every device in the LAN. Only Plex does not work.
Surely I can’t be the only person with this problem?
This has been happening on my LG TV for a few days now. It is hardwired to my router and has an internet connection. Sometimes the message goes away on its own after a few seconds but other times I need to turn my TV on & off a few times, still get the message, and then it will go away and load the app as usual after a few minutes. Not sure what the issue is.
That doesn’t fix the problem. My TV can connect to secure connections fine, once the Plex app thinks an internet connection is available. The problem is that around half the time the app thinks no connection is available, while the TV is absolutely connected. All other TV apps connect without any problems.
I just now got a new error (Error code: -105). The app tells me app.plex.tv cannot be found.
I haven’t been able to find what error -105 means yet.
To be clear, only the TV is giving this error 50-70% of the time. It doesn’t matter if the connection is secure or not and only the Plex app is having trouble connecting.
Other apps on the TV and other hardware running Plex all work fine.
App name: Plex for LG
Client version: 5.52.3
Platform version: 7.2.0
I may have fixed the issue.
I added my local network IP range to the /etc/hosts file in my Pi-hole. For now Plex is working fine. I don’t really understand how the connection was acting so randomly before, but it could be due to router and pi-hole working against each other with reverse looks-ups for DNS requests.
Still clueless as to why this would only affect my TV though…
I’ve been plagued with this problem over the last few weeks or so.
I’m running on a OLED55B7V, latest firmware, latest plex version etc.
I fix the problem by going into my network settings on my TV, and disabling WIFI, and then re-enabling it and then PLEX jumps into action. I don’t have any issues with any other apps on my tv, so feel like plex is doing something new / wierd.
