Thank you for the notice.

Unfortunately, the download pane, both for “Everyone” and “Plex Pass” users, is still (as of 10 May 2023) labeled compatible with High Sierra:

10.13 High Sierra or later (64-bit only).

I always archive every PMS & Plex for Mac version, but for other that may have similarly written over 1.67.2, what is the URL from which one can download Plex for Mac 1.67.2.3705?

Yep. Plex needs to update the web page. They’re aware of it.

Oops. I thought that was in the thread I linked. Let me see if I can find it somewhere.

The “minimum version” announcement has been updated.

Here’s a direct link to Plex Desktop 167.2.3705:

Is there a way to turn off auto-updates in the app? It’s great to have the working 10.13 build again, but would be rather annoying if it kept auto-updating to an incompatible 10.14 version.

Edit the plex.ini file. Add the following lines:

[debug] <-- add debug section if it does not exist.
disableUpdater=true

Plex Desktop:

  • Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex\plex.ini
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Plex/plex.ini

Plex HTPC:

  • Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex HTPC\plex.ini
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Plex HTPC/plex.ini

Awesome, thank you!

Thank you—I very much appreciate the clear and concise information.

(I tried to learn such last August, but could not find Plex (company) documentation, nor in forum.)

Still, I would rather see Desktop apps remain compatible with High Sierra.

Unfortunately this isn’t going to happen. We needed to upgrade the version of Qt to 6 to get support for Apple Silicon and that is what increased the MacOS requirement. We have fixed the updater on plex.tv so it will no longer offer updates to those on High Sierra but we have officially increased the system requirements for the app going forward.
