Hi! I have both a qnap ts-431 and a synology ds 612play. I noticed that the web interfaces for these models have different versions of plex then the plex.tv site has for them. Which is correct? should i stick with the manufacturer of the NAS for the correct plex or plex.tv. Issue is that the QNAp is locking up every 2 days, and I am trying to narrow it down to plex. Before installing plex and turning it on there were no lockups in the web interface which now requires a hard reboot of the NAS.
On each machine, go to Settings - General. This will tell you which version of PMS you have installed on the device.
Also, and probably of more direct interest to you, go to Settings - Web - General. This is the version of the UI you see.
Once we know which version, we can tell you which should have which version.
i just installed the following package on the QNAP
PlexMediaServer_1.4.1.3362-77c6a4f80_arm-x31.qpkg from plex.tv which would be the latest
and it still tells me there is a manual update.
??
What you see in the UI… with both on the same version, should be the same layout. If it is different, Please screen capture for me and indicate which is which.
nothing noted. As said, my qnap was pingable but the web interface would not work. telnet and ssh from putty also unresponsive. i had to hard reboot the nas 3x. the only that has changed is installing and turning on plex. that is an assumption that it is causing the problem. I don’t know for sure. I have it turned off for now to see what happens, but i want to install the correct version and it seems that the latest version from plex.tv is NOT the latest version per the interface. The app store on qnap has real old version. perhaps the latest version has not passed qnaps certification process? IDK
makes no difference after setting it to plex pass. update keeps showing up. even if i uncheck the box to check automatically for updates, and log out and in again. no joy. what is the correct version for the arm ts 431?
