Recently roku stopped going directly to my server, loads up some kind of generic page listing what I expect are on line resources. I have to go to the bottom and click +more, then select my server, then I get the screen that I want.
Is there a way to just go directly to the server? We don’t use, and aren’t interested in anything else.
Haven’t tried anything yet, I figured first step i’d just see if I could switch it back to just going to my server. Not interested in anything else.
Also of note, it’s not the main account on that TV, it’s my wife’s account we use on that TV, but if I use hers on our other TV, it still goes right to the plex server.
Anyway, here’s a progression of photos of what we get:
At roku start up we select plex as normal:
I go down to the bottom to +More (which KILLS me, why would Plex itself be ‘more’ to plex?!?)
It takes me to the list of the current plex server (as well as a previous iteration of our server) and another Plex option of some sort.
So the question is, how do I get RIGHT to my server without going through the other steps, and without any of the other on line stuff that we don’t use?
The online content settings are specific to each user account, so if you disabled them in your account, they won’t be disabled in your wife’s account. You’ll need to log into your wife’s account on Plex Web and disable the online content there.
The navigation sidebar settings (what’s pinned, etc.), are also specific to each user on each device. So each user can have unique customizations on different devices. For example, I have photos pinned on my smartphone, but not movies or music. On my Roku and Shield, I have photos, music, movies, etc., pinned. The article I posted shows you how to do all that.
It looks like the shared server may of changed, as there are two servers listed there as Plex - 229Mick. You may want to go through the onboarding process again.
Select the user on the sidebar
Choose “Reset Home Customization”
This will let you choose the preferred server again and source you want to PIN to the sidebar. Otherwise, you can unpin sources you don’t want, and PIN other source when you are viewing them in MORE
Thanks everyone, it sounds like one way or another we want to just customize that device. Meaning, there’s no simple way to just say ‘go to the server and just the server’, so we’ll remove the things we won’t use and add the active server (or at least the components we use) to the main screen.
Now off to another forum to figure out why my son can’t connect on his PS4 anymore (but still can on his phone).
