Plex for Samsung (Tizen) crashes with ASS/SSA subtitles

Most of my plex Media has been encoded with ASS/SSA subtitles as this is what Handbrake converts SRT titles to. It seems that if a video is played with subtitles enabled (forced or otherwise) the video crashes towards the end of the stream. From what I can tell this does not happen with SRT or PGS subtitles. I do not really want to have to go get SRT subtitles for all my affected video files. I do not think this was an issue until sometime in the past few months but I do not enable subtitles often and only came across this when watching a series that had lots of forced subtitles.

Burn subtitles is set to automatic on the server and on the plex samsung app.

My Samsung TV is a Q60 series 2018 model. Not sure if that helps.

Should have left the subtitles as SRT, as the Samsung TV can display those natively.

Probably but handbrake does not pass those through so I was just going with the options I had. I swear this worked in the pas though as I usually only play subtitles on forced subtitles.
