Ok I’ve had it. At this point I’m mad. Every update for the last 6 months I’ve been crossing my fingers for Plex to finally fix this issue but it never happens. I reported it 6 months ago (Direct play ruins subtitles (srt) on new Plex app "Plex for Windows")
but the issue remains. I know I’m not alone experiencing this. In short the issue is this (for details, see previous post) when a movie that has got a built in subtitle is direct-played and an external subtitle is picked, the subtitle won’t show. So if the movie comes with a built in english subtitle and I want a swedish subtitle so I download it and put it along with movie (external) the swedish subtitle will come up as a option but when I pick it it wont show on the screen. Note that the built in subtitle playes fine.
