Plex for windows live TV isn’t working once again. The new update for the player worked all day till I updated my plex server to the latest version of 1.18.2.2029 . Getting pretty disappointed in the latest updates, had to wait for over a month to get live TV back and only used it for a few hours and get the “There was an unexpected error loading this library
Please visit our forums if you continue to experience problems” error message once again.
Hopefully we don’t have to wait over a month for a dam update fix again… …

Help me out here but wasn’t the fix to the Windows client crashing for LiveTV ONLY in the Beta release. At least as of last week when I was at a neighbors and downloaded the “release” it crashed for LiveTV and only after showing him where to find the Beta and install did it function.
Curious if I missed something when you recommend people don’t use the Beta releases.
Generally, unless you’re willing to troubleshoot issues, provide logs, and generally have high tolerance for issues, I do not recommend using PMS beta releases. Personally, for my primary (non-test) system, I typically run several releases behind the current public release. I never auto-update.
In the case of a FIX for a known problem on a client, I will most definitely recommend that the user upgrade to that beta/test client release.
It’s not that I don’t have a “high tolerance for issues” it’s that I seen for the past year that Plex has jumped into to many things at once trying to be #1 that has caused issues and errors with their beta’s which I’ve been on since the “Selling Point” of offering beta’s to Plex pass users. I never had much problems year ago with Beta’s if something wasn’t working it’s like heck it’s beta but the past year it’s been every update something breaks, to the point were I’m afraid to click on the download button for a update.
Plex for Windows has been now my go-to player since it’s the only player that will stream live tv without buffering or play videos direct play.
I applaud drzoidberg33 simple yet effective way at responding which has help me out other then saying stop using beta versions. I’ll send in the logs once I’m able.
I couldn’t agree more. There needs to be a release thread that works, plus a seperate one for those wanting to work through the bleeding edge for features that I don’t even want or care about. EVERYTIME I go to connect now the PLEX server is down/offline. At this point I have dusted off my WDTV player to be able to watch my media. What the hell is going on over at PLEX. Consider your users and don’t waste our time with your terrible updates/failure until they have reached a basic level of reliability!
