Plex for Windows stuck running in background

I have downloaded plex for windows onto my new laptop in hopes of being able to watch media in bed and maybe download some media for trips. but after installing, when i run the app it just sits in background processes in the task manager, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, i’ve updated drivers, i’ve even just let it sit in the background for hours to see what would happen, nothing has worked and im at a loss. please help

Can you try resetting the app’s config?

  1. Make sure the app is closed
  2. Navigate to %localappdata%\Plex (c:\users[youruser]\appdata\local\plex
  3. Rename plex.ini to plex.ini.bak
  4. Restart the app

I had a similar issue occur, I believe it was due to the app attempting to render off screen.
