Version 1.23.2.4656
Plex-1.31.1.2262-74fdc6b7
about a month ago I opened an issue on GITHub stating that after updating to the windows media player Plex-1.31.1.2262-74fdc6b7 using Plex has been a problem. The CPU rate is high, the system takes a long time to respond to any commands to pause, fast forward, rewind or stop when playing shows/movies. It was suggested that we try HTPC but that had its own issues. I just saw on another topic that there was not any plans to update the media players and that HTPC was the new direction. I would like to get an older version of the windows Media player that i can reinstall since i did not have these issues before and the current situation is very frustrating.
HTPC replaces PMP.
PfW/PfM live on.

So I did see “plex for windows” - Windows 7 SP1 or later (64-bit only)
2.58.0.1076-38e019da" vs just “plex” - Windows 10 or later (64-bit only).
1.31.1.2262-74fdc6b7". I installed “plex for windows” and so far I have not seen any issue. I want to let it go for more than 30 minutes to see if it continues to work.
A’ight…
It should be Direct Playing that video - I just tried one of my own MPEG-2 Streams and all appears to be well with PfW:

If you have any problems, check the Dashboard Details and you may find it transcoding - depending on your server that might be the troublemaker.
Isn’t that what you had before?
I still have PMP installed and have been using Both off and on but Plex for Windows more and have not had any trouble since.
before i just had the Plex for windows installed. Now I have both Plex for windows and Plex media player. The problems went away after installing plex media player.
Ok, just trying to understand. It sounded like you were saying your issue was fixed by installing 1.31.1, which is Plex for Windows, not PMP.
