This has happened a few times, but I always forget about since it’s easily fixed. I was trying to grab clean logs for another issue and to do that I killed Plex, restarted the Shield, restarted the server, and then proceeded to try to recreate the other issue. First time launching Plex and starting the movie, 4K/DTHD version, both audio and video started to transcode even though they shouldn’t. Stopped playback, killed Plex app, started it again and it was back to normal direct playing everything.
I tried searching for this and didn’t find anything. Has anyone else seen this? I don’t restart the Shield much so it isn’t like it’s a big deal to fix, but it shouldn’t be happening regardless.
No logs captured for this specifically unless maybe it survived the restart. These are the logs that I grabbed for the other issue. If they don’t show the issue, let me know and I’ll try to recreate again.
