I’m no coder, but to my knowledge for most of the backendlogics, not UI-specific, the code is portable through many different devices…
UI and input-specific functions vary of course, and other things
But nevertheless, before Plex overhauled and tried to improve with the “new Plex experience”, there was much better upkeeping and more frequent updates!
If you look at the LG webOS 3.0+ thread for example:
- 2024: 13 (!!) updates
- 2025: 7 months later, after the last update in november '24, 1 update
- 2026: 9 months later, 1 update
And those updates in 2025+2026 were not really big changes, although I much appreciate the AV1 support…
