I have some very funky things going on with the Guide and Recording functions. First off, some shows cannot be searched, for example Supernatural. I search for it and… nothing. Once it showed up, but then later disappeared. The other thing is that existing recording schedules will be visible, the day comes and goes and the shows are not recorded. Not only that, but their listing for that day disappears as well. And when I look at the following week, they are on the list again! I have tried removing and re-adding the DVR and refreshing the schedule. I am using the current beta, but this has been happening at least for a couple of weeks maybe three. I am using a HD Homerun with dual tuners. Just updated the firmware on that as well. I feel I just can’t trust it to record properly and I have never had this crisis of confidence before. Very disappointed.
I’m realizing that I’m having similar problems. Sometimes the guide works fine and shows are scheduled and recorded as they should. But then all the sudden a show will disappear from the guide/recording schedule, even though I’m pretty sure it aired. For example…I have The Masked Singer set to record every episode and there is an episode on tonight. Up until yesterday, it appeared in the DVR schedule to be recorded. Then I noticed today that it had disappeared from the Plex guide (and thus the recording schedule) and was replaced with “To Be Announced”…even though the Fox website says that a new episode is going to be airing tonight.
Also, if I start typing into the search box for a show that I know should be coming up…it rarely shows it in the dropdown box that appears while I’m typing. However, if I hit enter, the show will usually appear in the search results that come up.
And TV show artwork has become somewhat rare…I’m pretty sure that whatever TV listings provider they switched to might kind of suck.
Not to discount that you are having an issue, but in the specific case of “The Masked Singer” tonight, it isn’t airing because the World Series Game 7 is being televised instead. Two episodes of Masked Singer will air next week.

Really though, that was just an example…strange things have happened with other shows. Like…I’ll have a show that is set to record all episodes and Plex will be chugging along each week recording them. Then suddenly it just stops recording the show and the recording schedule tells me that there are no upcoming episodes…But when I search the guide…viola…there’s the show that Plex is supposed to be recording. And to fix the problem I have to delete the scheduled recording and recreate it.
Then, just now while I was trying to straighten out the Masked Singer thing…I figured, “I’ll go ahead and recording the ‘To Be Announced’ show”. So I clicked on it and hit record just like normal. But for some reason it scheduled the recording to take place on Saturday…not tonight at 8 like the guide entry I had clicked on. (and yes, I double checked to make sure I’d selected the correct show). I tried to 3 times and it kept setting itself to record on Saturday instead of tonight.
Sounds like exactly the same problem. Barring the Masked Singer, these problems are much the same as mine. Same with the artwork, I didn’t think of mentioning that.
My wife suggested trying to record the shows individually. Good to test but a pain in the butt to do on a regular basis. BTW is the Masked Singer a CW show?
No, it’s on Fox. And I did attempt to verify that it’s not actually airing tonight by checking on the TV Guide website and hokierulz is correct that it’s now scheduled to air the next new episode on Nov. 6. So at least for that show, Plex had it right.
Oh, and I just realized that it’s even weirder…I just checked the guide again. When I look at the guide in the Plex web interface…it’s currently showing me “Today” from 6:30pm-10:30pm. And I can see the “To Be Announced” guide entry on Fox at 8:00pm. But if I click on that entry, the date is listed as 1/1/17 from 8:00pm-10:00pm. And if I try to schedule it to record, it puts it on the calendar for Saturday 11/2 from 11pm-12am. (and this is after doing a full channel rescan and guide refresh).
I’m having similar issue with my guide searches not showing shows I know should be there. And the guide just flashes and refuses to show anything when I go to the grid view. Like it is stuck initializing. I’ve tried deleting my DVR, reinstalling it as well as deleting the guide and starting over there too.
Lost another one last night. Had two shows set to record and only one did. These shows both have been on my calendar. I thought it was specific to a single channel. Well, I was wrong. Was The CW before, now it’s ABC. C’mon, now, this is becoming a serious problem.
