HDHR5-4US with the latest version. Generally they are set to any, but a few of them are HD specific, such as Hawaii 5-0, Big Bang Theory. Mostly ones that are playing on the national channels. Saturday’s programing went fine, but most of sundays failed
So not specific to the original issue, Sunday night, before going to sleep I power cycled the cable modem and some how the moca device got switched off. So that solved mondays issue. We’ll see how recording goes tonight…Actually there is a recording in about 30min’s.
This issue popped up a while back, and a fix was put in place.
Tell me if this sounds right… You could possibly screenshot your entire week of recordings, and for the most part, everything appears as it should.
You go back in the day you expect to see recordings, or perhaps look back over the past few days and discover items have completely disappeared, with no indication whether they recorded or not.
The old issue, which seems to have returned, is that when the guide refreshes for the day items are dropping off schedule. I don’t remember what they did to fix it in the past, but I’m pretty sure there’s nothing we can set on our end to fix it. It went on long enough for me to screenshot the week in advance, and show the missing items later.
For me, I had previously been dropping CBS shows fairly often, but not all of them. It appears I dropped The Big Bang Theory last week as well.
EDIT: If my rusty memory serves, it might have something to do with back to back recordings on the same channel? Does that fit your scenario? Young Sheldon recorded fine for me (2nd show in the series of back to back)
I took some shots to show last week vs. this week for me, and I’m already discovering things that have dropped. Hot Bench and Judge Judy air back to back programs.
Last week: (No Judge Judy, Hot Bench, or Big Bang)
This week: (Already missing second airings of Hot Bench and Judge Judy on some days)
It’s also interesting that these things show in the grid guide as they should. They’re just not appearing on the recording schedule. Here’s tomorrow, for example:
The 3 red dots on the channel guide only indicate that a program has been set up to record. The DVR then goes through a process to decide if it will record the program based on the preferences. The recordings tab is a better indication of what it will attempt to record.
Appreciate the responses, but again… settings haven’t changed, and it’s only been misbehaving in the past few weeks that I know of. I’ve been on Plex DVR since inception, and I’ve seen this before. I’ve combed the settings like a madman to make sure it wasn’t something I was doing or not doing.
Let me know if I’m missing a settings window to show. I really think I have this right based on it previously working… and then now, not working through no action of my own.
Nope, not me. Thought I was being directly addressed.
I remember this being a key issue with the way the guide imported. If I’m correct, rebuilding the guide won’t matter, as things will drop from it as time goes by.
Will attempt your suggestion when I get home. The telltale sign will really be a screenshot later in the week showing more things that have dropped that are currently there.
EDIT: I am specifically eyeballing that Big Bang Theory on Thursday, which, if it’s a repeat issue, will disappear on Thursday morning before recording even attempts.
You can load your own XML guide but I wasn’t recommending that. You guide had listing for HDHR premium channels which don’t exist anymore and might be confusing the scheduler.
Just a thought on how to tell if it is a signal problem, change the recording to keep partial recordings then it will stay on the calendar if it even tried to record.
Forgot HDHR premium was a thing, but the last 2 days of recordings have gone smoothly. Although I’ve been doing a daily restart of plex as a precaution. Starting tonight, I’ll let it run over the weekend without restarting and see if it breaks again.
Edit: So I just happend to notice that Hawaii 5-0 fell off the recording list and was able to add it in before it started…not happy about this.
