I run a Plex Server and have some mp3 files on the server. I invited my roommate (and best friend) to join my plex home. I see them under “Users & Sharing” listed as a Home User (and I get the option to log in as them when I open plex).
I have a lifetime Plex Pass (confirmed under my account) and can cast to our Sonos devices.
When I change to a Managed User or Home User profile on the iOS or Android app I can’t cast and instead get a message “Upgrade to a Plex Pass to cast to your Sonos”. My understanding from The Plex Home page was they should have the Plex app and be able to cast.
I can let everyone log in as me but I thought the whole point of Managed Users / Home Users was that I don’t have to do that.
Which says " Tip! : Only full Plex accounts can have external services like Sonos linked. That means that it is not possible to use this with a managed user, sorry. (It can still be used with a full account that has been invited to a Plex Home.)"
So I understand why my managed user can’t but why can’t my friend who’s a full user and part of my home cast?
I’m having the same problem. I have a lifetime pass. My wife had her own Plex account. I added my wife as a full user in my Home. I can see her, she can see me, she has access to all our libraries, but she can not add our Sonos Beam as a player. She gets an error message saying she has to have a Plex Pass to cast to Sonos. The documentation says in the Home administrator (me) had a pass, the other Home full users can cast to Sonos.
