Plex HTPC Becomes Desync'd Randomly

Server Version#: 1.27.0.5897
Player Version#: 1.19.1.3076-b24239e5

I just recently installed HTPC as I found out Plex for Windows cannot be remotely streamed to anymore. I’m noticing that after a little bit of remote playback time, the HTPC app actually becomes unusable and desync’d from the server itself.

By desync’d I mean I cannot control it any more (i.e. play/pause or even remote to the machine and try to use keyboard shortcuts to interact with the player). Also the progress of the video is no longer sent back to the server so it doesn’t track the video progress either. The best I can do at that point is to kill the app and restart again, but this doesn’t last long at all. In the logs, I start seeing “WARN Failed to send playing to source” messages but I don’t know when those messages occur, since I don’t notice the issue until I try to remotely interact with the player.

I attached the log but I don’t know if it’ll be of much help. Only redaction I did was the external IP address, my user folder path, and my server name. I’m running the player on an MSI Raider GL75 laptop if that helps. Anything I can do to prevent this from happening? Maybe some settings tweaking? Thanks!

Plex HTPC.1.log (225.5 KB)

Edit: Kinda gave up on HTPC as it seems not enough people really use it and it’s very buggy as a remote player. Resorted to downgrading Plex windows to one that still supports remote play.
