Plex HTPC feedback

Does anyone have a Logitech Harmony Companion remote working properly with HTPC on Win10?

I get the following errors in the log when HTPC starts:

Cheers for your help.

My Companion remote works fine over bluetooth on Windows 10.

Same here. Absolutely nothing plays automatically. If I fast forward a bit then the content starts.

This just happened to me after auto-updating to 1.3.0. It was working fine on 1.2.0. Pausing/unpausing gets it going.
Even tried a clean install of 1.3.0, still no-go. Had to go back to 1.1.0 (don’t have the 1.2.0 exe).

I have the same problem with 1.3. Playback is stuck with a blank screen after updating to 1.3.

Reverted back to 1.2 and it works fine.

21:9 support? We’re expecting video playback to fill the screen while maintaining the aspect ratio of the video. Pressing z toggles different zoom settings in case your video has letter boxing baked in. We will follow-up to see if mpv.conf tweaks improve screen fill during playback. We’re planning to maintain a 16:9 aspect ratio for the UI itself.

Yeah these tweaks don’t work anymore and haven’t since 1.0.0.

Setting the following

--keepaspect
--monitoraspect=21:9

does nothing because the zoom you built into the app overrides --keepaspect. I have to press Z on any 21:9 aspect ratio based movie for it to fill all the space.

1.3.0.2340 somehow just auto-updated (well, asked for elevation and I gave it) … has hosed my install (videos lock up on launch) Reverting to the older 1.1.x build is OK

Is there a setting to disable auto update? can’t find it (though i did have a “bloke look”)

Does anyone have a copy of the 1.2.x installer? I think i started with 1.1, it auto updated to 1.2 at some stage and don’t have the installer anywhere that I can find

Cheers

From memory, I had the issue with 1.2.0.2247, I also download the client and reinstalled it with no change. I am yet to try 1.3 though from the feedback by others, it doesn’t sound great. Others who have 1.3 HTPC client with this playback issue, are you also running the latest server version that came out in the last day or so?

I’m running 1.22.3.4523 on my primary server and 1.23.1.4571 beta on my test server. Same play behavior on both

I had the foresight to keep the v1.2 installer backed up.

Which bring me to the point… Would it not be best if the ‘Intro to HTPC’ thread kept links to all the versions rather than just update a single link? After all we are still in testing phase and would be great for people to roll back when there are similar issues.

Sorry but I have opened and closed Plex HTPC for Windows several times and the update does not appear

Same issue here with HTPC 1.3. Blank video initially when first loading a DVR’d show, unless I press skip forward once.

I originally had the previous public server release running, then upgraded to the latest public (1.23.1.4571) from yesterday, but same issue with HTPC 1.3 after server update.

i have the black screen issue on the latest 1.3.0 update on my pc…

@Fazil_Sekariya that’s an excellent point.

The first post in this thread now includes instructions and links necessary to run older preview releases.

Hi,

Does anyone know how to send realtime adjustment commands to Plex HTPC’s mpv playing video? For specific example, I want to have a keyboard shortcut that makes realtime adjustments to:

–video-zoom=

Adjust the video display scale factor by the given value. The parameter is given log 2. For example, --video-zoom=0 is unscaled, --video-zoom=1 is twice the size, --video-zoom=-2 is one fourth of the size, and so on.

Thx!

Can confirm the blank screen / no playback start with version 1.3… Fast Forwards a few seconds and it starts to play.

This is the case with any video I try to play.

What happened?

Thankyou - I can now stop the auto update confusing the wife and children  and thanks for 1.2 version, it’s working flawlessly (1.3 seems to stall on video launch for a fair chunk of content)

Btw, Matt … bad news always travels faster and louder than good. So forgot to say, this HTPC fork of Plex is very good. It looks fantastic on a big screen (just like the openPHT days), the UI is fast fluid and dense in layout / detail … unlike the other PMP’s and such which seem to be set up for the vision impared! DTSHD-MA & TRUE-HD pass-thru are working flawlessly which I couldn’t get to work in other non-htpc plex clients (or there were woes of some sort).

So, well done.
