Any suggestions from anyone on a video adapter that can do:
4K UHD, HDR, 60hz refresh (Samsung TV)
that wont break the bank

Home and End keys map to step_backward and step_forward actions respectively. Those actions skip +/- 10m or to the next chapter.
The behavior your describing could be attributed to PMP’s keyboard.json being edited to bind Home to skip_previous and End to skip_next? The same can be accomplished in HTPC. Some information can be found here: Input mapping · GitHub
Will Plex HTPC player get updated on the same schedule as the normal desktop player?
No, not the same schedule. HTPC releases will likely align with our game console and smart TV Plex player releases. Regular cadence, just not the same as the normal desktop player.
I downloaded Plex HTPC-1.0.0.2055-a69e7beb-x86_64, but it doesn’t run. I’m on Version 1.22.1.4275 of the server. Both are running on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.
Please add a setting in HTPC to delay the video by a user entered time lag in milliseconds. I could not find such a setting in HTPC. Due to one room with a PC, TV, and speaker setup, I need to create a substantial video delay in order for the audio to be in sync. I have no way to “speed up” the audio. More generally, two settings for “delay video” or “delay audio” by ms would be a universal solution for everyone. (Obviously those would be either/or).
You might want to check out the audio playback settings during playback which allows setting an offset for the audio – in both directions.
Hey folks, Plex HTPC 1.1.0 has been released. Windows users will need to uninstall 1.0.0 then install 1.1.0. Further preview updates will automatically install on all platforms.
Hey guys, I’m experiencing an unexpected behavior when pressing ‘step_backward’. It works, but it’s impossible to go backwards more than one chapter because it will always consider the ‘previous chapter’ the same one unless you’re in the exact same frame.
For example, you’re at 11:30 and have two previous chapters at 10:00 and 05:00. You can’t skip to the latter one because it will be stuck at 10:00.
Installed 1.1.0, and the 1st 2 things I notice are…
EDIT: I was able to select my account name in the top left, and then choose Reset Home Customisation, but this is normally shown on 1st entry and seems to be getting skipped.
Thank you! I must have edited the keyboard json back then and forgot. Sorry!
I just discovered Plex HTPC, and it’s looking good so far on my Mac mini M1, but I was disappointed to see it’s not yet a native Apple Silicon binary. I hope that will come soon.
It seems pretty safe to say I was mistaken. I have my macOS set up to NOT reopen apps after a restart, but it opens Plex every time (and no other apps). This is likely because Plex never shuts down properly due to the other issue, perhaps? Guess we’ll see when that issue has been fixed.
Just installed 1.1.0 on macOS Mojave.
Still absolutely loving the resurgence of Plex HTPC, just mentioning these things to be helpful not to complain!
I installed 1.1.0
The main problem I am having is the audio is out of sync with the video. Gandalf’s mouth is not in sync with his voice
When I switch the the Plex player on my Samsung, everything is in sync.
I also missed the beginnings of this new option and am stumbling on it today as I was re-imaging my HTPC.
As others have mentioned, PLEASE some sort of MadVR option - in fact, if you could just open it up to allow the ability to launch another player to do all the work, that would be awesome.
My current solution for MadVR is a terrible hack of Plex plug-in for Kodi (which isn’t as nice as my Plex app on Nvidia Shield) combined with another Kodi hack to launch an external media player (JRiver in my case).
If you could just give me the ability to press a button on a movie in my Plex HTPC and have it feed that filename to another player … I’d be golden!
Just did more testing… sync issue with sound and video was bad…
I had just replaced my video adpapter with GT 710, and had let it set up screen as 4k (no hdr).
I fired up PMP and it had same issue. Since it did not have problems before i suspected video.
When i dropped back to 1080p, sync is now correct
That sounds quite possible. Not sure a GT710 will be able to adequately handle 4K.
That would be nice. I would question how it would exit back to Plex reliably from MPC when playback is finished or interrupted by the watcher. Either way, it is hard for me to justify using anything other than madVR, even with the obvious interface advantages that Plex brings. The better quality for a 90 minute movie is worth the 20 seconds setup of playing the file via windows explorer and MPC.
Ya… 4k video on the 710 is stretching things… even when playing a 1080p movie.
Still trying to figure out what a 4k hdr capable card will cost me
