My Plex HTPC for Windows installation has suddenly started misbehaving. It cannot play any files – the video freezes up after a few moments, though the UI remains usable. Force quitting and restarting actually doesn’t help, it cannot play anything briefly, as if it did not restart cleanly. I actually have to reboot the PC to get Plex HTPC back to normal… But, it will still die when I try to play a file.
Every other client works fine including Plex for the web on the same computer, and Plex HTPC (same version) on another Windows box with an Nvidia GPU. So it’s not the files and it’s not a general server problem, it is a problem with one Windows machine.
Before I start reinstalling things and shotgunning the problem, does anyone have any ideas?
Here’s the About info from the bad client.
