some HTPC Linux update ago this red stripes showing during playback… sometimes more sometimes lee. sometimes so mutch that i have to restart the Computer, now it works for a wile

I use Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS

This is likely an issue in the hardware decoding. You can try turning it off to see if it changing anything.

Okay, it looks like it is an issue with hardware decoding…

do you need informations to fix this issue?

In such a case, the problem isn’t with Plex but rather with faulty hardware or drivers.

with the first beta version of Plex HTPC this issue are not there with self compiled OpenPHT also still no issues…

Have you updated your base ubuntu system in the meantime? (sometimes updates are one step forwards and two steps backwards)

Are you using AMD graphics hardware? If the answer is yes it would explain why you are seeing it with newer versions. Some HTPC versions ago the necessary amd hw decoding libs were added and hardware decoding on amd gpus worked, before that it was only cpu decode.

I use an Intel based Asus Chromebox with an up to date Ubuntu 18.04.06 LTS
