Plex HTPC Mac stopped working on Mac 10.13.6?

Hi,I can’t get plex htpc working on an old mac mini 2010 - running Mac 10.13.6
I have downloaded the latest plex htpc file, dragged it to applications after expanding it, but it errors when it opens

Everything as far as I know is up to date like mac updates, plex server updates etc.

Hope the macmini is not too old finally, it works a treat still!

Plex HTPC cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure Plex HTPC works with this version of macOS. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and macOS
(I can click show details and it has a long log)

Any advice / ideas much welcome!

According to the download page your Mac Mini should just be above the threshold with regards to the platform requirements.

If the app itself won’t open you can try the following procedure to get some more details as for what’s going wrong:

  1. Open Finder and navigate to /Applications
  2. Select Show Content from the context menu of the Plex HTPC.app item
  3. Navigate to Contents/MacOS
  4. Open the Terminal app
  5. Drag the Plex HTPC executable from the Finder window (#3) into the Terminal Window and press Return to execute it

This is no different from running the app, so it won’t succeed – but you should get a more specific error message about what’s causing it to fail starting.
