Plex HTPC [W11] black freeze after last episode

So, I’ve found others with this issue, but with no solution. I’m here to try again.

Issue:

  • After the last episode of a series, or at the end of a movie. Plex does not return to the menu, but instead freezes at a black screen.
  • Player controls are active, but it says “playing” at the end of the media but without it progressing.

Reproduce:

  • Choose the last released episode of any series with the setting “Player Experience → Auto-play Countdown Time” set to “Immediate”, and let the player run to the end of the media.

Gaffer tape solution:

  • Choose a 5 second countdown.
  • Does not go back to menu, but at least you get some kind of feedback, not just black.

Preferred solution:

  • Return to main menu after last episode has finished.

Thanks for the report and steps.
I can reproduce this issue on the same HTPC version and
playing the last episode of a TV show.

19:39:40 - restarted PMS
19:45:00 - restarted HTPC
19:47:28 - started playback
19:49:46 - episode ended & HTPC crashed.

Have the same issue, not much bothered by it with tv shows as it happens only once on the end but after each movie it’s pain :grimacing:

Tried to turn off skipping credits on the movie library but this didn’t help. If I don’t quit the movie manualy quick enough I got stuck the same way…

same settings Autoskip credits and Autoplay immedietly

I am having a similar issue. It seems like my plex server seems to crash around the end of every few episodes. The page will show some generic error depending on the client such as “app.plex.tv is unable to connect to securely”. My logs don’t show anything obvious. I’ve turned off credit detection and tried various solutions. Once I restart my server everything’s works fine until a few episodes run again.
