I cannot say for sure when this got “introduced”. However, I can say that with the Plex HTPC version 1.43.1.3911 or lower I’m not having this issue. I can say that it happens with 1.45.1 and 1.46.1 (newest version as of posting this).
What happens? It’s not all that easy to explain really. Let’s say I watch a TV show. After like 2 or 3 episodes, usually near the end, I cannot skip to the next episode. During playback everything seems fine. However, near the end when you may like to skip to the next episode, it’s just that it seems there’s no way to skip to the next episode. At this point, I can also not just use ESC button to stop the playback and get to navigate around again. It seems frozen. So, in other words, at this point I can simply kill the process and start Plex HTPC again. Then everything is fine until it happens again. It also happens with movies. I was just watching a full movie till the credits showed up. I paused the movie there, went away for some time and came back to it wanting to stop the movie and watch something else. But it’s just stuck there. I cannot exit the movie. Screensaver shows up after the specified time however, so saying that the player froze is probably the wrong word for it. I also don’t believe it has anything to do with the server itself as I updated it and everything works fine with Plex HTPC 1.43.1.3911 or lower. Anyone else having this issue?
