Plex ignores TV series

Server Version#:1.21.4.4
Player Version#:

Hi everyone,

I just started with PLEX, maybe there is a solution I’m just not seeing. I just transfered a cute little TV series called Moonlighting onto my NAS that serves as my mediaserver, but whatever I do, Plex doesn’t want to include it into my media library. I tried different naming options for folder an files, moved it around, added it manually, updated everything, tried different meta data agents. But no luck so far. Playback with VLC works, so the files aren’t corrupt.

Any ideas, what I’m doing wrong? Thanks in advance!
Ludwig

Which options were these?

This is the only supported one: https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/

Let’s say your folder is; /NAS/TV Shows/Moonlighting
You add /NAS/TV Shows to Plex so it picks up every show below that folder.

To add to Otto,

Make sure user plex, which usually falls into the `other’ permissions class, allows reading.

Translation:

  1. Mount point has 755 before NAS share mounted
  2. From mount point → media files,
    a. Directories have 755 (typical)
    b. Files have 644 (typical)
