Plex instance is down. Just sits on logo page

A couple days ago I was working on a second plex server, installing Tautulli, Ombi, etc (basically just getting a second server setup so I could retire my current existing server). The second server was running and I could stream from either primary or secondary server, no problem.

Yesterday I was unable to access any instance of Plex. The primary Plex server on Windows 7 Pro just sits at the plex logo screen when I navigate to 127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html when I am using Firefox. In Chrome, I’m getting the following error:

The second server I was setting up (through Unraid 6.7.2 and docker) keeps saying connection refused.

I undid all the settings in my router so that no ports are open for Tautulli or Ombi so I got that out of the equation. I also removed any references to the second server in my router so I could focus on getting my primary Plex back up.

I looked at the Plex Media Server/Updates folder and found the folder for version 1.18.3.2129 was modified on December-15th. Thinking it might be a bad update, I uninstalled that version of Plex and installed the next oldest version from Oct-13-2019, version 1.18.0.1944. Again, Plex just sits on the logo screen in my browser.

[mod edit] - logs removed

Any ideas? I’ve got holidays coming up and was planning on binge watching a bunch of stuff. Thanks all kindly!

Please don’t cut and past portions of your log unless you have a specific question about that portion. If you need help looking for a problem, please provide the entire log files themselves.

I’m thinking it’s a problem with the 1.18 version, as I downgraded my primary Plex server to 1.16.4.1469-6d5612c2f and it now loads fine on my Windows machine.

Can someone give me some black and white instructions on installing this version on Unraid 6.7.2 docker? I’ve searched the forums, reddit, etc and everything is written very cryptic (eg: “Use Dockers Tagging” from https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/ce2nyo/any_way_to_downgrade_plex_docker_version/) - well, I would, if I understood what that meant!

I dropped to my Unraid console and tried a docker run command, but it didn’t work properly for me (no Plex icon on the docker tab, page still refused to connect, so I’m thinking it didn’t get installed properly). This is the Docker run command that was unsuccessful:

docker run
-d
–name plex2
–network=host
-e TZ=“America/Arizona”
-h TOWER
-v /mnt/user/appdata/PlexMediaServer:/config
-v /mnt/user/transcode/:/transcode
-v /mnt/user/Media/:/data
plexinc/pms-docker:1.16.4.1469-6d5612c2f

I’m a Windows user - always have been, and always will be. I’m trying to expand my horizons with Unraid and Docker, but it’s not going well so far.

Thanks for any help.

Solved, Updating thread for others.

Database was corrupted. dropped to a shell and copied the last backup I had to com.plexapp.plugins.library.db, deleted the db-shm and db-wal files, and fired up Plex. It started up. Somehow the database got corrupted and it’s running fine now, but we’ll see what happens if the DB gets corrupted again. If it does, I’m going to try and follow the steps outlined here: Database Corruption

For reference, the DB in an Unraid Plex docker is held at /mnt/user/appdata/PlexMediaServer/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases
