Plex Intel HW decoding not working since 1.32.0.6973

Hey Plex Team,
when i switch from 1.32.0.6973-a787c5a8e-ls166 to Latest the Hardware decoding is not working anymore. The linuxserver-Team says in this related Ticket that they didn’t do anything and that this is a PMS Problem.
After the bug has not been fixed for two months, I wanted to ask if you are aware of it? It can’t be due to permissions etc., as the old version works problem-free and reliable after a roll-back.

Thank you very much!
Jom

Hey @jomjohannes , what CPU are you using? I am using an AlderLake 12th Gen CPU and I cannot seem to get HW Transcoding to work either.

The only thing I get an error on when Plex starts to transcode is this (plexmediaserver.log:

It seems to find my iGPU just fine though, but when I look on the dashboard, hw transcoding is not taking over

@jomjohannes
Update:
I downgraded my Plex Media Server down to the version that you originally came from and it works perfectly now. I’d recommend doing the same thing if you want HW Transcoding back. Don’t know why the latest version is creating/causing issues…

Downgrading is not an sustainable solution. Perhaps the Plex Team could answer ? :slight_smile:

I have a intel celeron j3455.

This could be the problem: PMS 1.32.4.7164 : Still have issues with HW Transcoding (Synology DS 1019+) - #11 by rahzadan

Fixed in 1.32.5.7210.
