Plex iOS access to isolated Server

Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252
Player Version#: 7.5.1

I have just moved house and do not yet have home broadband installed so have started up my Plex server (running in a container on unRaid) connected only to the local network (WiFi).

This seems to work ok for accessing plex on my PC. I can load from a browser, access the IP of the server, and because I have set “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth” I can access the server OK.

I am about to go on holiday so thought it would be a good idea to get my iOS to sync some TV shows or Films for the flight so in iOS manually configured the server IP address as a manual connection but my phone will not connect to the Plex server.

Whether I have the phone on WiFI only (no internet), Wifi & 3G (internet through 3G) the app will not see the server.

I did manage to get my phone to connect to the server if I logged out of the app, AND was only connected to the WiFi but this would not allow me to Sync content as that is a PlexPass feature.

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?
Any suggestions for how I could fix this?

Thank you

David

Sync won’t work without signing in both server and client. Since it’s a Plex Pass feature.

Thank you.

The server is signed in (it was signed in when on broadband at my previous house) so I expected it to work despite not having internet access right now. My expectation was that the iPhone would be able to at least see the server without an internet connection because I set up the manual server address.

I have resorted to syncing some content from a friends server instead.
