Plex iOS Sync syncing wrong Quality

First off, Server Version: nice.

Now onto the main topic.

For whatever reason when I try to mobile sync a TV Show of mine it shows multiple different quality settings.

Ex.

  1. I choose Low Quality to sync with as to save storage
  2. When it is syncing it shows syncing as 2 mbps, 720p HD. Ok sure, still saving on space but HD, fine.
  3. When it is finally synced it shows up as 9.7 mbps, 1080p HD

I was wondering if there was a fix to this that I could use as I want to put this show (Best show) on my phone without taking up 2GB each episode

Same. I always sync at Medium quality. Then yesterday went to sync a movie during/after sync it shows it’s using 20Mpbs quality. Clearly not adhering to desired sync quality.

I have the exact same problem. Probably server related and we’ll need to wait for a fix. Also on android phones.

That’s not the server version, that’s the version of the web app. The server would be 1.18.X.XXXX. Can you confirm what server version you first saw this in?

Same problem. iOS app downloads wrong (max?) quality.
Server version Ubuntu 1.18.6.2368.
iOS plex app 6.7.2
Cannot say when problems started, as I use sync only for in flight movies. Btw guess who is reading book today?)

Hi there, sorry about that confusion. I first noticed on Server ver. 1.18.7.2415. Can’t edit the original post to update unfortunately.

Can confirm that the problem is still happening on Windows 1.18.7.2434. Want Low, says 2mbps 720p, actually get 9.7mbps 1080p

While also on the topic of Transcoding for Synced files, is there a way to make it so that the transcoder will max out my CPU like Handbrake does? I have a Ryzen 7 3700x and when using “Make my CPU hurt”, i’m only getting like 20-30% utilization.

Same issue here. Sync options are not sticking. I am using the nvidia shield with my iPad.
