Does anyone know if there is a list or range of IP addresses I can enter into my QNAP NAS to allow only Plex through. At the moment Remote Access only works if all IP addresses are allowed, this worries me since the QNAP attack a while back has prompted me to beef up my security.
You can check for the “worker” IPs from the cluster of Plex servers involved in establishing/verifying remote access. Plex is providing a file with the current version of those IPs.
That being said… keep in mind the actual remote connection is between your server and the Plex client – so unless your clients/devices have static IPs that might be cumbersome
