This never happened until after the most recent update. Now I have over 100 Grateful Dead albums all with dates of 1966 even though the tags contain correct dates. I’ve made no changes at all to Plex settings. Also, when a new album is added it always displays a date that is one year prior to what’s in the ID tag. Then I do a manual refresh and all album dates get changed to whatever the oldest date happens to be. In the case of Grateful Dead that is 1966. Sometimes Plex even changes the date to 1900 and then no date appears at all and this even occurs on albums added before the update. PITA.
Just installed the new 1.26.1.5798 update. Date issues NOT fixed. But… reassigning posters now works right again.
I was already at 1.26.0.5715 when the issues started so I don’t know what you meant by 1.25.1 beta.
I think Plex should stop adding new features and spend the next six months fixing bugs instead.
Update: If I unlock the date on an album, then refresh metadata, the date will be set to a year prior to what’s in the tags. Better than all dates being the same but a huge undertaking to unlock dates for several thousand albums. The odd thing is that even though I have all dates locked Plex still changed them after the 1.26.0.5715 server update. It totally ignored the locks and changed my dates anyway then locked its changes. At least that’s what appears to have happened. Update 1.26.1.5798 is only a partial fix in that it only stopped setting all dates the same.
