Plex is not detecting "New Airings" of shows to record

I have this show scheduled to record all new airings, however it doesn’t detect the new shows and does not add them to the DVR schedule and does not record them, this happens with sporting events as well. If I set it to record “New and Repeat Airings” it does add them to the DVR schedule, but this is not ideal as I do not want duplicates recorded.

I have deleted the DVR and added them again, no change in behavior.
