If I try ro record Coronation Street as a series and select New Airings Only then no recordings are scheduled. If I select New and Repeat Airings it finds all the recordings that I want plus a lot of others that I don’t want. The ones that I selected are the new recordings.

New Recordings only means brand new episodes that have never aired before, not episodes you do not have. Your best bet is to record all and then delete the episodes you do not want.

If you select New and Repeat Airings - and you have some episodes in the TV Show Library the DVR is working in - the episodes you don’t have will be recorded and the ones you do have will be skipped.

I’m not 100% certain, but I strongly suspect if you have more than one TV Show Library - Plex will only comply with the above scenario, as long as the show you’re working with is in the same library the DVR is in.

Plex has issues working across libraries - and I think this is one of the issues.

The episodes I was attempting to record were the latest unaired broadcasts. I am now recording all episodes and deleting the junk.

As far as I know I have only one TV library.

I have one TV Show Library.
I have NOVA set to record New and Repeat Airings.
The transmitter in my area is broken most of the time, so I downloaded this week’s NOVA before it aired locally - Plex skipped this week’s recording.

I have NOVA in at least 3 different places, one inside the actual DVR Library Folder I record to, the others on other HDDS, but Plex still knew I had that episode already so didn’t record it.

Here is the actual DVR Library I record to:

(note: Plex DVR doesn’t even know how to name the show correctly - the correct name has no (YEAR) field.

Here’s where I actually put the episode (S48E11):

The show retained the recording indicator for the Series in the guide, but the episode didn’t record - Plex knew I had it already.

I am using the new TV Show Agent and recently aimed the DVR at a new DVR location on G: (moving older stuff to other drives or cleaning house), but my old NOVA directory was created using the old Agents long ago - and it worked the same back then as well.

Not sure what’s going on at your house, but at my house it’s working as expected.

Here’s a thought and opportunity for an experiment:

NOVA is pretty easy to match, apparently. Plex can match it - even with it’s poor Plex DVR name. Your show may not even match at all outside the DVR - it depends what it is and how it’s named.

What I would do is actually move your entire structure for this show inside the folder Plex is recording to, named EXACTLY the way Plex DVR is naming it. If Plex doesn’t know what it has and doubles recordings - you have a deeper problem.

The issue appears to be that the new episodes of Coronation Street (looks like this may also be the same with Emmerdale) are not correctly identified as being new.

You may be better reporting this using the form mentioned in this post, as it appears to be an EPG issue.

I was trying to report the error but got stuck when I got to Link to official lineup: .
How do I find this?

While waiting for a fix, you could limit the recording to the main itv channel, so you don’t record repeats on other itv channels.

How do I limit the recording to the main channel?

Found it. I hadn’t noticed the Advanced option.
All I need to know now to report the problem is where I can find “Link to official lineup” which is required in the report form.

Has anybody here reported an EPG problem via the form?

Is your channel lineup Freeview? In that case, the example given of TV Guide | Freeview may be OK.

Thanks. I have used that in the report.
