Longtime Plex user here. In the last couple of weeks, my XBox has stopped displaying Plex in 1080p and is downgrading all video content significantly. I believe it is playing in either 720p or DVD quality but I have no idea why and I cannot figure out any settings that affect playback. I have not made any changes to the software until today when I started trying to tinker with settings (it hasn’t worked).
Plex has always worked perfectly with 1080p content and I typically download everything in x265 when possible and x264 when not. Any recommendations would be great. I am streaming on WiFi using 5Ghz.
For reference, this is happening on both Xboxes that I have hooked up to Plex, both using a 5Ghz wireless connection, one is a Series X, and one is an Xbox One X. Before a week or two ago, everything worked perfectly in 1080p HD.
Update: I have checked VLC and the Plex app directly on my PC and all my files run in HD on my PC. This is only a remote streaming issue to other devices in my house.
