It looks like a website security issue as secure addresses work fine https://app.plex.tv/desktop but the other shows as not secure http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.htmlThis. This is the reason.
The 127 address (or by double clicking the icon in the tray) spends a lot longer ‘loading’ too. The secure address does not.
Also, I’ve just noticed that the News tab on the left only shows up on the secure link. not the loopback address.
Tbh they don’t need log files, its this simple.
they won’t change their behaviour until it hurts $$$
Appears to be better this morning
I think it was the new IPv6 Support implemented into PMS which is causing TCP/IP translation / DNS issues.
As for the moment - probably because of the vast amount of problems issued by the community - they seem to have deactivated it or did a configuration fallback. For me it’s working as usual in the past. For now!
Please also ensure that you have deactivated IPv6 protocol on your PMS Server / PC / whatsoever. Please deactivate (uncheck) Internet protocol TCP/IPv6 in your Ethernet/Network settings unless you really have to use it. But I don’t think you really must have it activated, 'cause there are very rare to none services out there that do only allow TCP/IPv6 without TCP/IPv4 support.
I have found that when I restart my computer, the server appears again. A couple hours later though it goes again.
Last night I downloaded the latest Beta and installed that, and I still have the issue.
Yup. Same here. It’s hanging up. When I try to quit the server from the tray icon, it doesn’t terminate the server or the update process. I have to kill them manually.
So far the last 48 hours I haven’t seen any problems. There has been a server update on the beta channel so perhaps that helped.
Right. I have no problems anymore too
What Beta version resolved the problem for you?
I have got the version for everyone.
I finally uninstalled Plex Media Server. Deleted all program related files from storage, including the AppData directory. Re-installed and re-added my libraries, and now all seems to be working without a hitch. The server has been up for the last +24 hours. Whatever was hanging it up may have had something to do with the system cache or library database.
I’m having the same problem my server in reachable, tried linking it again and nothing thinking of looking for altarnative this is annoying not reliable anymore
