I keep my media content on external drives attached to a Mac (2 Macs actually). Recently I added a bunch of movies to one of the folders I use for my Movies library, and they’re not appearing in my Movies list. I’ve done the Scan thing, but that doesn’t help. It’s as if Plex can’t see them!

It usually comes down to naming or permissions.
Verify Plex has permission to see the files on the external drives.
Follow the Plex documentation on movie organization and naming.
Plex Dance the file if you make any changes to organization or naming.
If Fordguy61 instructions don’t resolve your problem.
Try a manual scan of that Library. Access is via the Library’s ⋮ Vertical Ellipsis in the left menu
