OS: raspbian
PMS version: not sure, but fresh (where do I see version btw?)
I have just added the directory where I keep my movies, and my directory where I keep my shows as libraries. Right after adding it started a scan which took around 20 minutes, but it did not seem to find anything… I read this article: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201543057-why-is-some-of-my-content-not-found/ But it doesn’t really give me any answer, I don’t think my naming is wrong because it is not finding anything at all.
I also do no think that it is because permission problems as I can literally see the movie folders when adding the parent folder, so that tells me that Plex is able to see those sub directories…
I added: /disks/plexmedia/movies
and as you can see, that contains a bunch of movies… What do I need to do for Plex to be able to play them / add them to the feed?
well… it’s not great – with all that clutter from where you loaded them. Some of them will definitely cause trouble if/when you get Plex to recognize the files in the first place.
However… seeing your folder names doesn’t give us any information how you named the files within that folder…
You should be able to confirm this relatively easy by clicking on one of the movie folders. If Plex can see media files in that folder, you got your permissions right.
(no need to save that change… just click on the folder to confirm you can see its content).
Otherwise… seeing the parent folder is no guarantee Plex will also see the files.
PS: I suppose you have added the movies folder to a movie-type Plex library?
