Plex is ignoring my embedded ID3 tags and setting all music albums from the year 1970 to “1969-12-31.” It’s been doing this for a few versions. All other years appear to be behaving normally.
Interesting. I’m trying to reproduce this and find a lot of variables can affect it.
I can reproduce the error on two different Mac minis, as well as on an iPhone 12. Searching and filtering for albums with the year 1970 works properly. You can also see the year properly in the artist view under “Albums.” It does NOT show under album view next to the record label. If you open the Plex browser app and open an edit window for a 1970 album, the “originally available” field reads “1969-12-31.” The ID3 tags on the original files are correct. Refreshing metadata doesn’t correct the issue.
