I’m trying to set up a plex server so I could watch my pc media through my Samsung smart tv.
I set up the plex media server and share my desire folder and files.
on my tv, I linked the account with my plex media server and was able to see the folder, but some of the media files weren’t shown - I tried to add several type of movies but it seems that some of them do not shown at all I no matter how many youtube guides I watch , I did everything accordingly but problem remains.
I’m confused on this. If this is your own Plex server, you don’t need to share anything. Whatever you add to Plex will automatically be available to you. Or are you using 2 accounts and did share your server with the other account?
If you are using a movie library, Plex needs to be able to match them to an actual movie. In some cases, a movie might get matched as a copy of another movie, so they don’t appear to not show up. Use the Plex Web client, there is a filter for “duplicates”, this will identify movies where this might have happened.
