Crashes daily. Please help. @tom80H
You seem to have an entirely different problem as your system drive is running out of capacity.
If you check Plex Media Server.2.log
you can see how the capacity is going down by the minute until there’s only 30 MB of space left. With that little disk space left, your system should have all kinds of problems – even for the OS. Usually Windows will start throwing tons of alerts if you get below 1 GB of system space
Weird I haven’t been getting those alerts but that makes sense. I have this large Linux ISO download that is taking a lot of space. I will forever make sure there is enough space on the drive. Thank you @tom80H
That didn’t seem to be the main cause. I have several hundred GBs available and still crashing
My server crashes when you try to play a video back, not sure what’s going on.
It seems about the same time that the transcoder kicks on plex crashes.
In the meantime i’ve reverted back to an older version. hoping it gets resolved with another update.
My server crashed several times when I turned on the sonic analysis for the music library because of some album it couldn’t analyze. It ran perfectly fine the first time around then I added new music and it would start analyzing then would say rebuilding album index and crash.
I am having a terrible time keeping the plex software working. I’ve been using Plex for years and had to set up remote access to the computer so I can restart the plex software every time I want to use my server to stream even throughout my house.
I’ve reinstalled the software, updated it to the latest Version 1.24.0.4930
My plex server is an i7-7700k, 32 gb of ram msi radeon 590 8gb video card running windows 10 professional version 21h1
3 8tb seagate ironwolf drives for storage, All of the hardware has been tested repeatedly, but I cannot access my server unless I restart the plex software. Also I’m directly hardwired into a linksys ac3200…My back up is an Asus ac5300 my connection is fibreoptic in the 300Mbps range.
Any ideas as to why I have to restart plex to use it?
Having similar issue as @fatmaninexileI.
I have been having a lot of issues recently as well with Plex crashing on my Windows 10 plex server. I tried updating my video card (Nvidia 1660ti) drivers and plex to version 1.24.4.5081. I still notice that it seems to crash 3-4 times/day from the system tray and i have to run the app again. I have turned on verbose logging, but i still haven’t been able to figure out why it crashes or why its crashing so often. Any help would be appreciated.
Server specs:
Intel i7-6700k - 4.00 Ghz
32GB Ram
Nvidia GTX 1660ti (driver version: 472.12) - Unlimited stream unlocked
Windows 10 (21H1)
I have the same problem as the two posters above. I’ve gone back to an older version of Plex and it seems a bit more stable, but weirdly PMS still keeps stopping/crashing when I’m not using it and I have to restart the app. I posted about it a few weeks ago and a few people replied, but no-one seems to be able to help. Plex support seems nonexistent.
PMS 1.24.5.5173 docker image crashing 10+ times per day using Live TV & DVR with PLEX PREVIEW on the Roku.

Log files are from when it crashed today.
My server has also been crashing every 2 days. Started about 2 months ago. The icon crashes from the task bar. Some of the services still seem to be running in the task manager. It starts up just fine when I run the exe.
I am also having the same issue.
Running the following server:
Server Version#: 1.25.0.5282
Player Version#:
Plex Media Server has been very stable for me for a while now. Suddenly over the last 3 days it has suddenly been crashing without have made any changes to my setup.
I have tried optimizing the database and I have also checked that I don’t have any rogue dll files that might cause any conflict. I am running Plex Media Server on a dedicated Intel 11th Gen NUC with 16gb of ram on Windows 10 Home vs 21H1 OS Build 19043.1348.
I am also running Tautulli V2.7.7 on the NUC and not even running Radaar or Sonaar or NZBGet on the device. It is solely dedicated to running PMS.

Bumping
Bumping and also adding that I am willing to pay for tech support should someone be able to fix my issue.
Bumping. I haven’t changed anything with my server, yet for the past week it will randomly shut down.
Bumping as well. Happened at least 3 times in the past week. ~3 last week.
what now?
I rolled my PMS version back to 1.24.5.5173 and it has fixed the issue. I would say that PMS 1.25.0.5282 is the root of the issue. I don’t know much more than that but from seeing a lot of people having random crashing issues is all down to this particular version of PMS. I wish someone from Plex would look into this.
I suspect my issue was something to do with my music library and/or using Plexamp to play playlists. I’ve deleted two large playlists, stopped playing music through PMS and stopped using Plexamp and the server seems stable (5319).
